Change is never easy, especially when it involves moving from a fully unlocked experience to a subscription model. With the latest update, we’ve introduced a subscription — but we’ve worked hard to make sure it feels fair. Here’s a breakdown of what changed, what stays free, and why we think this is a reasonable compromise for everyone.
What’s Free and What’s Behind the Paywall
Let’s start with the good news: the core tracking functionality remains completely free. You can open the app, record as many throws as you want, and use the tracking features without ever being asked to pay a dime. We believe the fundamental experience of analyzing your throws should be accessible to everyone, and that hasn’t changed one bit.
Previously, all features were unlocked from the start. We loved that approach, but it simply wasn’t sustainable in the long run. So we tried to find a meaningful compromise — one that keeps the app useful for casual users while offering extra value for those who want more out of it.
What moved behind the subscription is the export functionality. Throws no longer automatically get saved to your camera roll. If you’ve been used to that seamless save-to-gallery workflow, this is the biggest change you’ll notice. We know it’s an adjustment, but we think the tradeoff makes sense once you see what comes with it.
New Export Features at a Lower Price Point
To soften the blow, we significantly lowered the subscription price. You can now unlock the full export capabilities for just $0.99/month or $9.99/year. We wanted to make sure the price point felt approachable — something most people wouldn’t have to think twice about if they find value in the app.
But it’s not just about paying for what used to be free. The subscription also comes with brand-new extended export features. You’ll now be able to save the pose wireframe overlay and the pullthrough directly into your exported video. These are tools that can genuinely level up how you review and share your throws, and they weren’t available before at any price.
We see this as a win-win. Free users still get a fully functional tracking app, and subscribers get a richer, more powerful export experience at a price that’s lower than what we originally had in mind. We’re committed to continuing to improve the app, and your support through the subscription is what makes that possible.
We understand that introducing a subscription can feel like a step backward, but we genuinely believe this is the right path forward — both for the app and for the community. The tracking stays free, the exports got better, and the price is as low as we could make it. Thank you for sticking with us, and as always, we’d love to hear your feedback.
